My dear friend Ali gave me the following recipe and on behalf of Tice's search for the best chocolate chip cookie recipe ever I am posting this to my blog. I must warn you though, I made these cookies the other day and they didn't turn out nearly as well as when my friend made them. So, bake these cookies at your own risk.
put ingredients in KitchenAid mixer in this order:
note: when you see a dashed line, this means blend until well blended, then stop the blending and add the next set of ingredient(s)
1 stick of BUTTER FLAVORED crisco (the butter flavored is apparently more important than I originally thought)
--------------------------------------------
1 cup of sugar
1.5 cups of brown sugar
1 tsp of vanilla
--------------------------------------------
2 eggs
--------------------------------------------
one + .5 cups of flour
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp salt
2 cups of old fashioned slow cooking oats
1 bag/2 cups of semi sweet chocolate chips
--------------------------------------------
At this point you should be able to roll into balls with your hands. Make sure you can do this, if not, perhaps you added to much liquid or not enough dry stuff.
Anyway, place the perfect little balls of dough onto an ungreased cookie pan and bake at 350 for 9 minutes. They shouldn't look completely done when you pull them out of the oven. Keep them on the pan and let them continue to cook there, until they are cool, then you can remove with spatula.
Please let me know how they turn out because I wont be able to try out this recipe anytime soon. I have a problem: I put on some jeans this morning that I haven't put on in forever because they have always been too big and baggy. Today they fit just right. If anything they were on the tight side. Upon realization of this I lost my appetite. I wasn't hungry for breakfast and its afternoon and I am not hungry for lunch. The problem isn't the loss of appetite, I am sure it will be back in no time, the problem is the pants being tight. I need to work on this problem before I practice this cookie recipe.

Salsa-ed Out
I think I am salsa-ed out. I sat down this afternoon and ate some and it just wasn't the same. It might have to do with the fact that it is just about expired (it says to use within 14 days). But really I think it is because I have downed almost the entire 48 oz container, single-handedly. And don't think it's because I'm greedy and didn't share, I tried to share but no one was interested in partaking. So me, knowing it would expire in two weeks, took it upon myself to consume as much as possible. I think I will use the remaining salsa to make this recipe that I found on Jack's website. And probably will wait awhile until I buy another container of Jacks.
Don't get me wrong, I highly recommend the salsa to anyone, it is delish. It would probably be best though if you have someone to eat it with you, or a good recipe to help share the burden.

I love Tuna
I sometimes have cravings for Tuna. Other than its strong smell, I love everything about it. For lunch today Trent and I did a taste test to figure out which brand tastes the best. The two cans that we had on hand were:
Bumble Bee
and
Chicken of the Sea
Bumble Beeand
Chicken of the Seaboth "in Water", of course.
And the winner is.....
BUMBLE BEE!
well, it depends on what you like. We liked Bumble Bee because it was chunkier, less juicy, and less fishy tasting. I drained both before adding mayo and mustard but I couldn't get as much of the moisture out of the Chicken of the Sea, which I think causes it's fishier flavor. I am not sure on the difference in price (if any), but for some reason I think Bumble Bee might be a tad bit more pricey. But I tell you- its worth it!
I still need to compare the winner of our most recent taste test to StarKist. I will inform you all of the result of taste test #2 as soon as they are available. Or maybe you already know? Is Starkist better than the above two?

John Cougar Mellencamp
My brothers have the best taste in music. A long time ago my bro- Alex, introduced me to John Cougar Mellencamp, and now he is like my favorite. An even longer time ago my other bro- Andy, introduced me to the Red Hot Chile Peppers and they are like my absolute favorite. However, since we hear the Red Hot Chile Peppers all the time, I decided to make my playlist completely devoted to JM. If you do not like my music selection, just press the pause button. If you love my music selection then get excited and dance!
I like his middle name- what do you think "John Cougar Savage" or even "Cougar Trent Savage"? Trent isn't the biggest BYU cougar fan (yet) so I don't think he would go for it.
Haha, I was just kidding that is a hideous name.

Color Me Mine
This past weekend Trent and I went on a double date to Color Me Mine. Trent didn't know what the date entailed until we got to the store and he saw all the pottery and painting going on. He was like "I'm not going in there." What he really meant is that he didn't want to go in, but of course he was going to.
As we walked around the store looking for our special piece of pottery to paint he rejected all of my suggestions. He didn't want a vase, or a plate, or coasters. We didn't "need" any of these things. But then, we got to the kid section and it was like love at first sight--- he found an alligator. All of a sudden Trent's attitude about color me mine changed and we had a splendid time. I painted the alligator and he supervised. He told me exactly what he wanted it to look like. We wont know exactly what it looks like until Thursday when it come out of the kiln. I will repost a picture of the finish product. Here is us working on the gator.

Happy Birthday Adie!
Yum! Fiber One bars
These bars are extremely delicious. I bought a big box of them at Costco last week and have been downing them ever since- they are absolutely addicting. There is only one minor problem- they give you terrible gas. Gas like you have never seen/heard/smelt before. A couple of days ago I got a little over ambitious and ate about 4 or 5 bars (again they are very addicting)…both Trent and I bore the consequences that night when my gas kept us both awake!!! It was such a dreadful experience that I vowed never to eat that many bars in one sitting ever again. I can’t however go cold turkey (I am addicted) so I have continued to eat one or two here and there. And I have continued to have slightly more gas than usual. This morning in gymnastics class I was on the bar and everyone was standing there, watching, waiting their turn, when I tried to do some flip thing around the bar I unexpectedly let one out. How embarrassing!!I will never ever eat another Fiber One bar ever again.
